Annabel Keatley is a painter who responds to nature and its elements. She easily absorbs the colour, light and patterns of her surroundings, and works to convey the essence of a particular place - whether real, remembered or imagined. Although she sometimes works directly from the landscape making small watercolours, she usually paints in her studio from her imagination.

Paintings ,recently oils, evolve over time through layering and revealing of colour and texture, combining sand, earth and beeswax with natural dry pigment and paint. Resulting works have a richness and depth which communicate to the viewer not only the beauty and vibrance of nature, but also that this is an artist who truly loves colour.

On this site you can view a diversity of work from purely abstract to landscape demonstrating that Annabel is equally happy working in both forms of expression.
